Description
The Hare and the Tortoise is a wine that evokes the essence of the classic fable, reminding us of the importance of effort and perseverance to achieve our goals. Produced by Fento Wines, this wine comes from the Rías Baixas region and is a pure reflection of the 100% Albariño variety.
Winemaking
The grapes come from Condado de Tea, the second largest sub-zone of the Rías Baixas DO. The vineyards, with a south-southeast exposure, are between 10 and 15 years old and are planted on a soil rich in mica and silicates. The climate in this area is warm and dry, with an average temperature of 15ºC, although it can reach 40ºC in summer. Harvesting is carried out by hand early in the morning to retain the maximum aromas and freshness. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks, where the drained must undergoes cold fermentation with yeasts that bring out the primary varietal aromas. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is filtered to preserve its freshness and aromas. Finally, it is bottled in a winery in As Neves, Pontevedra.
