Description
Honoro Vera Rioja is a young red wine made mainly from Tempranillo grapes (100%), coming from vineyards between 15 and 60 years old located in La Rioja. The vines are planted on limestone soils rich in clay, which contributes to the structure and personality of the wine.
Winemaking
After the harvest, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a controlled temperature, which does not exceed 27°C. Part of the wine ( 10%) is aged for 5 months in French oak barrels , which gives it slight spicy nuances and greater complexity.
Taste
On the nose, Honoro Vera Rioja is characterised by its intense aromas of red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, which give it an outstanding freshness. On the palate, its flavour is an explosion of ripe fruit with notes of cherry, blackberry, plum and figs, showing also a medium body with moderate tannins and a finish that highlights light spicy hints of vanilla, cinnamon and pepper, thanks to its ageing in oak. The texture is smooth, with a medium persistent finish, including a slight bitterness and an earthy aftertaste. Ideal with cured meats and red meats, its fruity and youthful character makes it an excellent choice for uncomplicated enjoyment.
