The 2016 Classic is a blend of Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah and Macabeo from a cooler year, with ripe fruit but keeping balance. It's a vintage Fredi Torres likes (he didn't produce a 2015). The wine has moderate alcohol and good acidity that provides a lively palate. The vines are grown on slate and some granite soils, which provide a certain austerity on the palate. It fermented with 25% full clusters and indigenous yeasts; only 20% of the wine matured in used barrels for ten months, while the rest was kept in stainless steel. It has a sharp palate and very fine tannins. 13,000 bottles were filled in August 2017.
