Description
Fonterenza Rosa with I.G.T. Toscana Rosato appellation is a wine that comes from the prestigious region of Tuscany, Italy. Made from the Sangiovese variety, this wine has its roots from pre-selected vineyards such as Alberello, Quercia, Strada, Lupo and Bosco. These vineyards are located on soils that reflect the full diversity of Montalcino. The agriculture practised is organic and biodynamic, guaranteeing a natural and authentic product. The vines are on average between 17 and 23 years old, and the planting density varies between 4,000 and 5,600 vines per hectare.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested in the first week of September. In the winery, the grapes are crushed and pumped into tanks where a short maceration of 20 hours is carried out and then, after bleeding, fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts. Finally, the wine rests on its lees for 7 months in stainless steel tanks.
Taste
Fonterenza Rosa has an attractive deep salmon colour. On the nose, the wine displays aromas of rosehip, cooked strawberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry, dill, tomato leaf, cream, wet stone and leather, offering a complex and captivating olfactory experience. On the palate, it reveals itself as a dry wine, with medium to fine-textured tannins and marked acidity. This is an extremely drinkable rosé wine, very fruity and refreshing.
