Emidio Pepe Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is an emblematic wine that embodies the essence and commitment of a family dedicated to the art of winemaking for over half a century. Founded in 1964 by Emidio Pepe, the winery has pioneered biodynamic viticulture practices, always prioritising authenticity and quality in every bottle.
Winemaking
This wine is made exclusively from grapes of the Montepulciano variety (100%), grown in the winery's own vineyards located in Torano Nuovo , in the province of Teramo. The vineyards, mostly planted under the pergola system, provide natural protection from the intense summer sun, allowing the grapes to retain their freshness and develop silky tannins.
The winemaking process is meticulous and artisanal. The grapes are trodden with the feet, a traditional technique that allows a gentle extraction of the must. The must is then fermented without the skins, following a method similar to that used in the vinification of white wines. This approach results in an intense, fresh and enveloping rosé, which captures the essence of the Cerasuolo typical of the region.
