The 2011 Els Escurçons is an organically-farmed Garnacha from red slate soils at 600 meters altitude. 2011 was a very dry and warm vintage, so this is a warm wine with aromas of prunes, dark cherries, licorice and a touch of leather. It's a little earthy, wide, generous and warm with dusty tannins. This is a relatively young vineyard planted in an old site in 1999. The wine was matured 50/50 in used barriques and clay amphorae. 2,800 bottles produced.
