Description
The single varietal red wine Danjou Banessy Espurna is very elegant, making it perfect for romantic dinners or anniversaries. It is a mineral wine that expresses its origins.
All the effort that the brothers Benoit and Sébastien put into creating the best biodynamic wines in the area is clearly reflected in each of the wines produced at the Danou Banessy winery, where the wines are made with the minimum of intervention.
Winemaking
This biodynamic red wine is made from Cinsault grapes grown on old vines over 120 years old, on schist and quartz marl soils.
The grapes are harvested by hand and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged in used oak barrels for two to four years.
Finally, the wine is bottled without chaptalisation, fining or filtering. No sulphites are added.
Taste
The reserve red wine Danjou Banessy Espurna is very deep and has a black fruit flavour. It is a mineral wine with notes of red fruits, and herbal as well as floral hints. It has a medium body and a very long finish.
Certain woody notes can be perceived, probably due to the oak ageing where it was aged.
