Château Grand Village 2014
16.28₣ (Exc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / Switzerland
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2014 Grand Village has a crisp and focused bouquet with mulberry and raspberry preserve aromas, blackcurrant emerging with time alongside melted tar. I appreciate the freshness locked into these aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin on the entry, quite strict and linear with a gritty, slightly tarry finish. It does not quite have the persistence or perhaps charm of the best Grand Village I have tasted, but it will give plenty of drinking pleasure over the next decade.
