Christmann Gutswein Riesling white wine comes from the Mittelhaardt region, known for its unique terroirs and favourable climate for the production of high quality wines.

In the year 2022, the winery A. Christmann made significant changes to the wine labelling. Instead of the traditional Guts- and Ortsweine, they decided to focus on a line of wines that come exclusively from their best vineyards. These wines are characterised by being hand-picked, spontaneously fermented and carefully blended, reflecting the winery's commitment to quality and tradition. The basis of this line of wines, called "Aus den Lagen", comes from the winery's own classified vineyards, which extend over almost five kilometres in the Haardtrand region. These wines, which come exclusively from VDP.ERSTEN and VDP.GROSSEN LAGEN classified vineyards, are comparable to a second wine in the international context.
Christmann Gutswein Riesling is a true reflection of the terroir of Mittelhaardt. It comes from specific vineyards such as Gimmeldinger (Kapellenberg and Meerspinne), Ruppertsberger (Linsenbusch and Reiterpfad), Neustadter (Vogelsang) and Königsbacher (Idig and Ölberg). This meticulous selection of vineyards guarantees an authentic and distinctive taste. After spontaneous fermentation, two thirds of the wine ferments in oak vats and is bottled in mid-April, thus preserving its freshness and aromatic complexity.
