Description
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée Micheline Tanneux Brut is an exquisite champagne with a limited production of 850 bottles per year, the fruit of the passion and dedication of Vincent Charlot, the current owner and driving force behind the Charlot-Tanneux winery. This winery is located in Mardeuil, just 3 kilometres from Epernay in the Marne Valley, and has been involved in viticulture for generations, cultivating just over 4 hectares of vineyards in Mardeuil, Epernay and Moussy.
Winemaking
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée Micheline Tanneux Brut is a Blanc d'assemblage made from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, sourced from a small plot in the village of Pierry 1er Cru on the southern slopes of Epernay. Biodynamic principles are applied in the production of this champagne and all their vineyards are Demeter certified following the lunar cycles.
The wine is neither filtered nor clarified, and goes directly to a second phase of bottle ageing, where it remains on its own lees for a period of almost 8 years. Afterwards, the wine is disgorged, applying a final dosage of 5.5 g/L, categorising it as Extra Brut.
Taste
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée Micheline Tanneux Brut is exceptional, combining the elegance of a Grand Cuvée with the distinctive personality of one of Champagne's most promising winemakers. This Champagne reveals a surprising and complex taste, with light caramel notes, deep vinosity and impressive length on the palate, offering a rich and surprising tasting experience.
