Description
Ca' del Bosco Annamaria Clementi is not a wine, it is a statement. Born of Maurizio Zanella 's radical commitment to excellence, it is the most intimate tribute to his mother and to the land of Franciacorta, that luminous strip of northern Italy where the vineyard dialogues with the Alps and Lake Iseo. Here, in poor, well-drained morainic soils, with a mild climate and morning mist, the Chardonnay (83%), Pinot Noir (15%) and Pinot Blanc (2%)vines find their perfect balance.
Winemaking
Each bunch is harvested by hand and undergoes the exclusive "berry spa": three baths of purified water that remove all traces of impurities. Only the free-run juice is used. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in selected small oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. This is followed by six months of ageing on the lees before blending. Only the best fractions of 31 cuvées are used for this cuvée. Bottled by gravity and without filtration, Ca' del Bosco Annamaria Clementi rests for more than eight years on the lees before disgorging. No expedition liqueur added: Dosage Zéro. Absolute purity.
Taste
Sober, deep, meditative. On the nose, layers of toast, hazelnuts, beeswax and hints of ripe fruit and candied citrus. The very fine bubbles integrate a firm structure, creamy texture and precise passage. On the palate, it is dry, long, with a vibrant acidity that supports notes of quince, wilted white flowers and a saline mineral background. The finish is persistent, elegant, almost introspective. Ca' del Bosco Annamaria Clementi does not seek easy applause: it commands respect, it demands attention. It is a sparkling wine of contemplation, made not to impress, but to last.
