Description
The world of wine has witnessed the expertise and passion of many winemakers, but few have left such a deep mark as Bruno Giacosa. For nearly eight decades, this legendary winemaker created the most prestigious single vineyard Barolo and Barbaresco wines. From the time he joined the family business at the age of 15, representing the third generation of his Langhe winemaking family, Giacosa stood out for his tireless pursuit of perfection, his unparalleled palate and his deep knowledge of the Langhe vineyards. His legacy, which has helped establish Piedmont as one of the leading wine regions, lives on through his daughter Bruna, who maintains her father's winemaking philosophy: respecting traditional techniques while harnessing the best of modern technology.
Winemaking
BARBERA D'ALBA FALLETTO DOC is a clear reflection of this philosophy. Produced from the Barbera grape variety, this wine comes from the Falletto sub-zone in Serralunga d'Alba, with a south-west exposure. Harvested at the end of September, this wine underwent a 20-day fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation was fully developed, and it was aged for 14 months in French oak barrels.
Taste
Bruno Giacosa Barbera D'Alba Falletto has an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, it displays an aromatic complexity where fruity notes of cherries and plums stand out. On the palate, this wine is faithful to the typical characteristics of Barbera: full-bodied and exceptionally balanced.
