Description
Borsao Blanco Selección is a young, fresh wine produced by Bodegas Borsao, a benchmark in the Campo de Borja DO, founded in 2001 after the merger of three wine cooperatives. The wine is mainly made from Macabeo (100% in some vintages) or a blend of Chardonnay and Macabeo in others. The vineyards are located at considerable altitudes and have an average age of 30 years, with soils rich in pebbles, which influences the quality of the grapes.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully selecting the best grapes. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 14ºC and 15ºC, thus preserving the aromas and freshness. In addition, the wine undergoes a brief ageing in French oak barrels for about three months to refine its characteristics.
Taste
In the mouth, Borsao Blanco Selección stands out for its freshness and creaminess. It presents a perfect balance between acidity and structure, with a marked presence of citric notes and hints of tropical fruits such as peach and pineapple. Its colour is a bright straw yellow, and its nose offers a wide range of fruity and floral aromas. On the palate, it is ideal to accompany aperitifs, light fish such as hake or monkfish, providing a refreshing and fruity touch without being excessively acidic.
