Description
Bardos Viñedos de Altura is an exceptional red wine born in the Ribera del Duero, specifically in the vineyards located at almost 1,000 metres of altitude in Soria. These old, low-yielding vineyards are planted on sandy and fine gravelly soils resting on ferric clays, and benefit from an extreme continental climate. The varietal composition includes Tinto Fino, Albillo Mayor and Garnacha, although Tinto Fino is predominant.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the careful selection of the best grapes. Fermentation and maceration is carried out in 15,000 kg vats at 18ºC for two weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Ageing is carried out for 12 months in oak vats of different sizes, from 225-litre barrels to large capacity vats.
Taste
Bardos Viñedos de Altura stands out for its complex and balanced flavour. To the eye, it has a very lively cherry red colour with purple reflections and a high robe. On the nose, it is very fresh and full of complexity, with fruity notes and spicy hints in the background. In the mouth, it is very pleasant, with velvety and ripe tannins. The acidity is perfectly integrated with the density of the wine, creating an ideal balance. The aftertaste is long and maintains the freshness of the fruit, making each sip a memorable experience. This wine is perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or to accompany a good meal, inviting you to sip and savour it at your leisure.
