Description
Bardos Reserva is a red wine from Ribera del Duero DO, made from a blend of Tinta del País and Cabernet Sauvignon. These vineyards, planted at an altitude of over 900 metres above sea level, include old vines over 60 years old in Moradillo de Roa and vineyards in mills.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in October, and the winemaking process includes fermentation and maceration in 15,000 kg vats for four weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. Ageing is carried out for 16 months in these same barrels, which gives the wine a remarkable complexity and structure.
Taste
Bardos Reserva stands out for its great aromatic intensity. On the nose, it presents aromas of fruits of the forest and balsamic touches provided by the Cabernet Sauvignon, together with spices and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is powerful, structured and ripe, but at the same time fresh and very persistent, with well-integrated tannins. Its flavour is characterised by being elegant and smooth, with a long finish that makes it particularly pleasant on the palate. It is ideal for pairing with red meats, roast lamb, game and cured cheeses, and is recommended to be served at a temperature of 16ºC.
Bardos Reserva is a wine that combines elegance and freshness, being easy to drink but with a great ageing capacity. Its production is limited, being made only in great vintages, which makes it an outstanding choice among the wines of its category.
