The third year of the Ribeira Sacra DO is the 2014 Xabre, a Mencía-based blend, with the rest made up of Sousón, Mouratón and Garnacha Tintorera. The wine fermented in a large-sized oak vat, raised in barrique and then put back in vat before bottling. There are notes of wild berries, herbs and earth, with a faint lactic touch. There are some dusty tannins that would welcome food. There is a little bit of wood that should get integrated with some more time in bottle as the wine is very young. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2016.
