Skin contact maceration for 12 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Addition of yeast and sugar for the 2nd fermentation in the bottle. Bottled unfined.

Description

Strohmeier Blanc d'Orange is an exquisite amalgam of varieties that intertwine to offer a unique palate experience. It is composed of 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Pinot Blanc and 15% Zweigelt, all from minimally pruned vineyards. This wine is rooted in a gneiss soil with a fertile top layer, which gives it special and distinctive characteristics.

Winemaking

Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc are fermented with the skins for 3 weeks, after which they are blended with directly pressed Zweigelt. After this process, the wine is aged for 8 months in wooden barrels. Once this period is over, it is bottled with organic yeast and sugar, allowing the secondary fermentation to take place directly in the bottles. Importantly, no sulphur is added at any point in the process, guaranteeing unparalleled purity and authenticity.

Taste

Strohmeier Blanc d'Orange presents itself as a dry, fine-bubbled sparkling wine with a floral character and a distinctive earthiness. On the nose, intense aromas of peach, grapefruit and hay emerge, with a more pronounced hint of yeast. However, it is on the palate where this wine surprises: its foam is light and refreshing, offering a sparkling and light-hearted sensation that contrasts with the complexity of its aromas. It is, without a doubt, a wine that defies expectations and presents itself as a bold and different option for those who are looking to go off the beaten track and venture into unexpected flavours and textures.
