Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Disgorged without dosage in April 2024, Laherte’s latest NV Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature blends equal parts wine from the 2022 harvest with reserves from the two previous vintages. Sourced from the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay and Vallée de la Marne and comprising 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Meunier, it delivers aromas of pear, orange zest and dried flowers, mingling with blanched almonds. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, saline and vinous, with racy acidity and a precise, saline finish. Its attractively bitter phenolics further underscore the wine’s chalky character.

Description
From their small winery in Chavot, on the southern slopes of Épernay, the Laherte family has been farming for generations with deep respect for the land. This cuvée was born from Aurélien Laherte 's conviction that wine should express its origin without artifice. With Laherte Frères Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature, Aurélien signs a declaration of principles: a Champagne without any embellishment, without dosage, without make-up, faithful to the character of its grapes and its soil.
Laherte Frères Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is made up of equal parts Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from selected plots in the Vallée de la Marne and the limestone slopes of Épernay. The vines are about 30 years old and are farmed organically, without the systematic use of chemicals, where each intervention aims to reinforce the natural balance. The Meunier brings roundness and fruit, the Pinot Noir depth and structure, while the terroir gives the wine its characteristic mineral and tensional energy.
Winemaking
The grapes for Laherte Frères Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature are harvested by hand at their optimum point, pressed in the traditional way and fermented in small vats and barrels, with light batonnages to preserve freshness without losing complexity. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in full. Fifty percent of the blend corresponds to reserve wines aged in barrels, which adds richness and cohesion. The wine remains on fine lees and is aged in the bottle for at least 24 months before disgorging by hand. No expedition liqueur is added: Brut Nature, straight, naked.
Taste
Laherte Frères Blanc de Noirs Brut Nature is aromatically restrained, precise and mineral. Green apple, fresh pear, crisp quince, subtle toast and a touch of dried flowers. The bubbles are fine, well-integrated and reinforce a firm structure, with notes of white cherry, citrus peel and a trace of wet chalk. The palate is dry, vertical, saline, with a vibrant acidity that adds tension and a long, almost austere finish, where raw almond and lemon zest resonate.
A Champagnewith pure lines, for palates that seek authenticity, energy and territory in every sip.
