Description
Jouveaux Le Mont is a unique expression of artisanal viticulture. Produced by Alexandre Jouveaux, a former Beaux-Arts student and fashion photographer, this wine reflects an exciting transition to viticulture in the Mâconnais, a region of Burgundy, France. Jouveaux, known for his unconventional approach and dedication to biodynamic and natural viticulture, has created a wine that stands out for its purity, freshness and personality.
Winemaking
Jouveaux Le Mont is made primarily from Chardonnay grapes grown in sixty-year-old vineyards on clay and limestone soils in Uchizy. Vinification is carried out with a minimal focus on intervention and the use of sulphites, thus preserving the natural expression of the grapes and the terroir. Ageing takes place in large 1200 litre foudres, which contributes to its complexity and depth.
Taste
Jouveaux Le Mont is characterised by its mineral intensity and notes of sea salt and stones, giving it a unique identity. The aromatic palette includes ripe fruits such as apples, white flowers and hints of honey. On the palate, it is elegant and powerful, with a slightly oxidative style that adds complexity. The acidity is high, adding freshness and a long finish with notes of grape, lime and citrus. This flavour profile makes Jouveaux Le Mont a challenging and direct wine, far from the softer, velvety profiles of other Burgundy whites.
