Description

From the heart of Penedès, where the Mediterranean caresses centuries-old vineyards, comes Gran Juvé & Camps Brut Gran Reserva : a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay, Xarel.lo, Macabeo and Parellada grapes grown organically in emblematic vineyards such as Can Rius, Espiells, La Cuscona and Can Massana. These plots, located between 160 and 700 metres above sea level, offer a diversity of clay-loam soils and a marked maritime influence, providing freshness, structure and complexity.

Gran Juvé & Camps Brut Gran Reserva is born of a conviction: to demonstrate that the Penedès region can offer world-class bubbles. Far from passing fads, the Juvé & Camps family has opted for a patient, precise style that is deeply respectful of the land. In their vineyards integrated with forests and natural margins, regenerative viticulture is practised, with respectful pruning, biological pest control and low yields to preserve the longevity of the vineyard.

Winemaking

After a manual harvest, the grapes for Gran Juvé & Camps Brut Gran Reserva are destemmed and gently pressed to obtain only the free-run juice. The grapes were cold-soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The Chardonnay and Xarel.lo varieties undergo a short ageing on fine lees, followed by natural malolactic fermentation to balance the acidity. Then, the coupage and secondary fermentation are carried out in the bottle with rectified concentrated must and selected yeasts. Finally, Gran Juvé & Camps Brut Gran Reserva is aged for a minimum of 60 months in the cellar, developing finesse and complexity.

Taste

Gran Juvé & Camps Brut Gran Reserva has an elegant golden hue, with fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it expresses itself with notes of fennel, ripe white fruits, apricot and a delicate touch of dried fruits and brioche. On the palate, its creamy texture contrasts with a vibrant acidity, providing tension and depth. The finish is long and saline, with hints of toasted almond, chalk and citrus peel. A sparkling wine with a serious, gastronomic and refined profile that speaks clearly of time, the land and patience.
