Cune Crianza is a truly unique red wine from the D.O.Ca La Rioja. It has been produced by Cune, the first winery of the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, with a long history in winemaking.
It is a blend of Tempranillo (80%), Mazuela (10%) and Garnacha (10%). The grapes used come from the winery's own vineyards and also from other high quality vineyards in La Rioja Alta.
It is a perfect wine to enjoy with lamb ribs, poultry stews, partridge, semi-cured cheeses, stews, roasts, braised pork and sausages.
The red wine Cune Crianza blends all the qualities of the red wines of La Rioja Alta and most of the traditional winemaking methods.
After the normal harvesting process, the grapes are transported to the winery. In order to preserve the fruit that characterises this wine, fermentation is carried out in 20,000 kg stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of between 25 and 27ºC.
Daily pumping over and two delestage are carried out during maceration. Subsequently, after vatting for about 12 days, the press is separated and malolactic fermentation takes place in the tank.
The wine is then aged in American oak barrels for a year, during which time it acquires the aromatic balance that characterises it, as well as its finesse and overall expression.
It is a very pleasant wine with a blend of aromas and some spicy notes. In the mouth it is smooth and balanced, fresh and harmonious, quickly accessible, with a perfect integration of tannins and a lively acidity.
A well-rounded red wine
Cune Crianza is one of the most balanced wines in existence. It is a delicious red wine that wisely combines tradition and innovation.
