Description
The Crianza wine is the main example of the Cillar de Silos winery, because it reflects the character of the Tempranillo grape variety with which it is made. This wine is the product of a blend of fruit from different terroirs and vines of great antiquity, and for this reason its flavour is classified by experts as unique.
This type of grape is cultivated in calcareous clay soils, being this an element that determines its fruity taste and its high level of acidity. It is a red wine that denotes elegance and silkiness in its flavour.
Winemaking
Cillar de Silos Crianza is a red wine made with grapes from vines over 25 years old. In the selection of the fruit, the grapes are selected so that they are in an optimum state of ripeness, and then fermented with indigenous yeasts.
The ageing phase takes place in French oak barrels for at least 12 months. Finally, it is bottled to be marketed.
Taste
The Cillar de Silos Crianza wine has a cherry red colour with violet tones that determine its imposing character. It denotes a complex and intense aroma, with hints of black fruits and spicy notes.
In the mouth it is structured, ample and with a very particular freshness. It has a velvety texture and the presence of firm tannins can be noted in its flavour. The finish is long and lingering.
