The golden, pungent, nutty and creamy 2016 Château Chalon shows power, aromatic complexity and an extroverted and showy personality, with depth and pungent aromas and flavors. It was produced in the very traditional way of aging it in ancient barrels that were never topped up and developed a thin layer of yeast, the veil of flor, that gives the wine a very distinctive profile, aromatic and tactile, complex, pungent and persistent, with notes of iodine, hazelnuts, a volatile twist and a long finish that combines bitterness and saltiness. It still has some varietal character in the finish. It has 14.5% alcohol. 12,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in May 2023.
