Description
Altanza Reserva is a red wine from Rioja produced by Bodegas Altanza. This single varietal wine is made from 100% Tempranillo, one of the most representative varieties of the region.
Winemaking
The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 30 years, cultivated in the traditional way without the addition of chemicals. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the selection of the best fruit. The winemaking process begins with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C for 15 days, followed by maceration for 10 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels and rests in the bottle for 12 months before release, giving it its characteristic balance and complexity.
Taste
Altanza Reserva stands out for its aromatic profile and structure on the palate. Visually, it has a lovely garnet colour with orange highlights. On the nose, it displays a rich combination of aromas of raspberry, cherry and hints of pepper, with balsamic nuances derived from its barrel ageing. On the palate, it is characterised by a light but ample entry, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity. This balance culminates in a pleasant and persistent finish, which highlights its elegance and concentration. It is a versatile wine that pairs perfectly with cured cheeses, red meats, rice dishes and game, making it an ideal choice for a variety of gastronomic occasions.
