Buy Wine from Le Raisin et L'Ange
Le Raisin et L'Ange is a family business trading and producing natural wines in the southern Ardeche, in the Rhône Valley (France). Gilles and Antonin Azzoni, father and son, are united by the same philosophy: to put the dimension of nature in the mouth of man. They are winegrowers who see themselves as companions rather than processors. This gives the grape all the prominence it deserves, putting it at the forefront of their work, and the vine as the queen of the vineyard.
Le Raisin et L'Ange vineyard
The vineyard is cultivated on limestone, in a region known for its forests, hills and trails. Gilles founded his 7 hectare domaine in 1983, and it was not until almost 15 years later that he turned to organic farming. He is a member of the AVN (Association des Vins Naturels), the French grouping of natural wines, thanks to his unconditional commitment to original winemaking. They grow syrah, merlot and gamay grapes with experience, a lot of intuition and patience. Father and son have managed to put the wines of Le Raisin et L'Ange on the throne of fashion in the natural wine bars of Paris.
Wines of Le Raisin et L'Ange
The family has several objectives for the winery and its wines: to promote organic grapes in the south of Ardeche, to buy certified organic grapes from local producers, and to vinify without the addition of oenological products (yeasts, filtration, sulphites). They even bottle without temperature control. Among their most outstanding bottles are the fragrant and light, Hommage à Robert 2019, a blend of merlot, gamay and grenache, Brân 2017, fruity and juicy, Pause Canon 2019 and the coupage of syrah and grenache, Fable 2019, ideal for an aperitif. Its maceration is semi-carbonic of whole bunches, spontaneous with indigenous yeasts. Aged in oak barrels (30%) and stainless steel tanks (70%). The goal is simple: smile, light humour and lots of good things.
