Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2021 Las Suertes, usually the most complex red, comes from centenary vines in the El Ciruelo Vineyard at 480 to 520 meters above sea level with a northern exposure. It fermented with 90% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and had 20 days of maceration, with an élevage of 11 months in 500-liter oak barrels. It has contained ripeness at 12.1% alcohol with very good freshness. It's the more Burgundian of the reds I tasted today, aromatic, floral, open and complex, layered, nuanced and elegant. The evolution of this wine is very good in bottle; the palate is vibrant, the tannins are very fine and the wine has superb harmony and balance. 4,100 bottles were filled in November 2022.

Features

Description

Suertes del Marqués Las Suertes is a Spanish wine from the Orotava Valley on the island of Tenerife. The name "Suertes del Marqués" refers to the estate where the grapes used to make this wine are grown. La Orotava is an area with a long winemaking tradition, and the wines produced in this region are renowned for their unique quality and flavour.
The wines of this origin are made from grapes grown on the slopes of the mountains of Tenerife, which enjoy a privileged climate and location. The island of Tenerife enjoys a warm and sunny climate for most of the year, which allows the grapes to reach optimum maturity and produce wines with a characteristic flavour and aroma.

Winemaking

Suertes del Marqués Las Suertes wine is made with grapes of the Listán Negra variety, which is one of the native varieties of Tenerife. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripeness.
Once harvested, the grapes are taken to the winery, where they are pressed and alcoholic fermentation takes place. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months, which gives this wine its complexity and structure.

Taste

The wine is fruity and elegant, with notes of ripe forest fruits and a hint of spice. It has a fresh acidity and a smooth, silky texture on the palate.
It is also balanced and very pleasant to drink, with a smooth acidity and a long, lingering finish.

The pinnacle of beauty and elegance.

Suertes del Marqués Las Suertes is a wine typically used to accompany red meat dishes and dishes with sauces. Its body and powerful flavour make it ideal for pairing with these types of food.
As for its use in food marinating, this wine can be an excellent choice due to its powerful and complex flavour. You can use it to marinate red meats, such as sirloin or entrecote, or to give a special touch to sauces and stews.
If you are a wine lover, you can't miss Suertes del Marqués Las Suertes 2019, and I assure you that you won't regret it! And don't forget to enjoy every sip of this wine with your loved ones and tell us about your experience.
