Description
The Domaine Schoffit winery is one of the most famous and renowned wineries in France. It has a strong French-Germanic influence that is reflected in its wines, which are cultivated using biodynamic techniques.
Such is the case of the Schoffit Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg wine, which is an elegant dry white wine made from 100% Riesling grapes. This is one of the most widely used by this winery, and largely thanks to it, its white wines have been valued by experts as some of the best in the world.
Winemaking
Sustainable viticulture is put into practice in every vineyard of the Schoffit winery, and it is no different with the Riesling grapes grown in the volcanic soil of the Rangen de Thannel, from which the Schoffit Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg wine is made.
This winery not only works in a respectful way with agriculture, but also in the cellar they try to make the wine with the minimum possible intervention, without adding any chemicals.
The wine is cold-fermented, followed by alcoholic fermentation with the winery's own yeasts, which lasts between three and six months. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks.
Taste
This wine has a bright yellow colour. It is an intense mineral wine with tropical fruit flavours, as well as citrus and white fruit flavours. It has an herbaceous and floral aroma.
Schoffit Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg is traditional, calm and deep. It is a ripe, medium-bodied white wine, with some spicy notes and a dense texture. It has good balance and acidity.
An exceptional wine
This Grand Cru is an exceptional wine, enveloping and elegant, excellent to combine with desserts, typical Alsatian dishes, as well as spicy cheeses.
If you want to taste an unforgettable wine, then the white wine Schoffit Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg is your best choice. Don't let them tell you about it, confirm it for you! Then let us know what you think.
