Description
Samaruco wine, a Bodegas Luis Pérez classic, is presented as an exquisite combination of varieties, with 50% Syrah and 50% Petit Verdot. These grapes are grown with a philosophy of minimal intervention, avoiding the use of herbicides, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and quality. Production is limited to 3,500 kilos per hectare for the Petit Verdot and 5,000 kilos for the Syrah, in soils of gypsiferous marl, which contributes to the uniqueness of this wine.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at night, in small boxes of no more than 14 kilos, to guarantee the integrity of the grapes. Each variety is made separately in tanks, where the grapes are first cooled and then selected on the table. Gravity vatting is used, leaving some bunches whole, and the aim is to express the terroir as much as possible with intense maceration. Malolactic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks and ends in barrels, where the wine remains between 12 and 16 months in French oak barrels with an average age of 4 years.
Taste
Samaruco stands out for its intensity and character. On the nose, it offers an explosion of black fruit harmoniously combined with well-worked wood, with notes of pepper and liquorice. On the palate, it is unctuous, with powerful tannins and a good acidity that structures the wine in an exceptional way. Despite its volume and power, Samaruco provides great enjoyment thanks to the prominence of its fruit. This balance between power and elegance makes it a wine of great character and subtlety, ideal for palates seeking intense and refined experiences.
