Description

This is a white wine made with Pinot Gris grapes from Mittelbergheim marl limestone soils, of a sandy-calcareous type, classified with a peculiar acidity that is a determining factor in the wine.
Rietsch Quand Le Chat N'Est N'Est Pas Là is defined as a light, calm and aromatic wine, which, when tasted, will subtly linger in the mouth to denote the expression of the fruit.
Like others from this winery, its production is purely natural, with minimal intervention of machines or techniques that could alter the taste or aroma that defines it.
Depending on the vintage, it can turn pink, while still combining the sweetness and bitterness that characterise it.

Winemaking

The production of this marvellous wine begins with the traditional cultivation of the vines, which are then harvested under careful techniques that guarantee the freshness of the grapes.
Then, they are taken to the winery to begin the maceration process for three weeks and start the alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without adding any chemical elements.
After that, the wine undergoes a second malolactic fermentation to minimise the acidity of the fruit and is aged for at least 6 months in foudres, keeping the must in contact with its fine lees.

Taste

Rietsch Quand Le Chat N'Est N'Est Pas Là is an aromatic wine characterised by its level of acidity on the palate. On the palate you can taste the lightness of its dry flavour.

A dry wine with pronounced acidity

Rietsch Quand Le Chat N'Est N'Est Pas Là is characterised by the level of acidity provided by the Pinot Gris. However, there is a slight sweet and dry taste that makes it unique. It is ideal to accompany meals that include pork, spicy seasonings, mushrooms and sausages.
