Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The textbook red 2019 Crianza comes from a warm and dry year when the Tempranillo achieved 13.95% alcohol and developed full aromas and flavors. In the last few years, they have reduced the time in oak and added some other varieties (3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano) to add complexity to the blend. This is the winery's flagship red, and it's clean, approachable, easy to understand and readily available with some 735,000 bottles. It has a spicy finish from the time in oak that a lot of people will love. There are five lots of this wine, and I tasted the first one
Between 16ºC and 18ºC
Aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrel.
This red wine is a faithful reflection of the harmony of the terroir, where the grapes come from in the villages of Villabuena, Samaniego and Ábalos, in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa.
The vines have an average age of 45 years and are planted on clay-limestone soils located on hillsides. This wine perfectly combines concentration, balance and a well-defined personality, making it a safe bet.
Izadi Crianza has been made from Tempranillo grapes. This is the grape par excellence of the Rioja Alavesa region.
These vineyards are located at an altitude of 450-550 metres above sea level, on slopes facing northeast-southwest. Izadi Crianza is aged for 14 months in American and French oak barrels.
It is a red wine with a high aromatic intensity in which you can perceive its woody notes from its ageing.
A red wine that reflects the harmony and elegance of the region.
Izadi Crianza has a perfect balance in which the grapes feel ripe, but without excess.
When savoured it provokes fruity and floral memories, and reminiscences of the vineyard that gave life to this marvellous and contemporary red wine from La Rioja.
Izadi Crianza is a benchmark wine from the Bodegas Izadi winery belonging to the Artevino Group, which symbolises this unique style, with the intensity and elegance typical of the region.
In gastronomic terms, it is ideal to accompany cold meats, red meats, poultry, fatty fish, small game, medium cured cheeses, spicy dishes and hot stews.
