Description
Goyo García Beâtum Tinto wine from Ribera del Duero, Spain, is the best red wine to enjoy at a barbecue.
The Goyo García Viadero winery was founded by the son of the owner of the Valduero winery, which means that he comes from a long-established family of winegrowers and has tried to rescue the traditional methods of cultivation and vinification, taking special care to work organically in the vineyard.
Winemaking
Goyo García Beâtum Tinto is made from Mencía and Palomino Fino grape varieties, which have been cultivated on sandstone, clay and black slate soils at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. They belong to very old vines over 100 years old.
The grapes are harvested by hand when the grapes reach their optimum state, then the whole bunches are destemmed and gently pressed. The must obtained is then fermented at a controlled temperature for a couple of weeks and then cold macerated for about three months,
The wine is incubated in French oak barrels of about 10 years old, and aged in them for a year and a half. Finally, the wine is bottled without stabilisation, filtering or fining, nor are sulphites added.
Taste
The red wine Goyo García Beâtum Tinto has a bright red colour. In the mouth, it leaves a taste of red fruits and has a powerful entry, as well as a long finish. It is a wine with good structure and balanced acidity. On the nose, it leaves earthy, leather and slate notes.
