Description
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée 7ième Ciel Extra Brut is a biodynamic champagne made by Vincent Charlot in the commune of Mardeuil in the Champagne region. This wine is a millésimé that brings together the seven types of grapes allowed in Champagne: Pinot Blanc, Fromenteau, Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. These varieties are grown on the "Le Potage" and "La Loge Pinard" plots in Moussy, on clay and flint soils.
Winemaking
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée 7ième Ciel Extra Brut is a vintage champagne, with a production of 10,000 bottles per year, fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation and followed by 11 months of ageing on lees. The wine is neither filtered nor clarified and then aged in the bottle with its own lees for the following 5 years. Disgorgement is carried out with a final dosage of 4.5 g/L (Extra Brut).
Taste
Charlot Tanneux Cuvée 7ième Ciel Extra Brut is complex and deep, with a palate that is layered and medium to full-bodied. On the nose, the wine displays aromas of apples, tropical fruit, yeast, oak and dried apricots. Its acidity is balanced, and the finish is long and refreshing. In appearance, this wine has a beautiful bronze colour, with a lively and precise bubble that lingers throughout the bottle.
