Description
Burja Reddo is an exquisite sample from the Vipava region, known for its unique terroirs and commitment to sustainable viticulture. This wine is made from a blend of grapes including Refosco, Blaufrankisch and Schioppettino. These varieties are grown in a vineyard of 0.40 hectares, with a soil composed mainly of marl and sandstone. The vines have an average age of 16 years, which gives them a distinctive maturity and character.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure that the best bunches are selected. The must is then fermented with indigenous yeasts, allowing maceration with the skins for 20 days in stainless steel tanks. This process enhances the natural flavours and aromas of the grapes. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in Slovenian oak barrels, which gives it complexity and structure. Prior to bottling , no fining or filtration is carried out, and a minimum amount of sulphites (7 mg/L) is added, thus respecting the original essence of the wine.
Taste
Burja Reddo delights the palate with a palette of flavours and aromas that evoke the richness of its terroir. On the nose, intense notes of cherry, chocolate and blackcurrant are perceived. On the palate, plum and strawberry flavours unfold, complemented by hints of pepper and a slight green pepper nuance. The tannic structure is medium, balanced with refreshing acidity.
