Description
Bàrbara Forés Negre is a wine that stands out for its character and authenticity, coming from Terra Alta, a renowned wine region in Catalonia. This wine is the result of a careful blend of Garnacha Tinta ( 72%) and Cariñena (28%), varieties that provide a unique richness of flavours and aromas. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-September, following organic and dry farming practices, which guarantees a high quality product and respect for the environment.
Winemaking
As for the elaboration of Bàrbara Forés Negre, each grape variety is fermented separately with its own yeasts in stainless steel tanks, maintaining controlled temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 16 months in 300-litre Alier French oak barrels , a process that adds complexity and depth to the wine's final profile.
Taste
Bàrbara Forés Negre has a cherry red colour with a purplish rim, medium-high depth and the presence of sediment, which denotes its natural elaboration. It is a bright wine with a good tear. On the nose, it is expressive and complex, with aromas of black and red fruit, balsamic notes, liquorice, toast and a background of red flowers.
On the palate, it is dry and fresh, although with a notable alcoholic content. It has a good volume and a medium-high tannin that feels ripe. This wine is not only suitable for immediate consumption, but will also gain with some bottle ageing, improving its structure and nuances with time.
