Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Nerin Terra was produced with a blend of 77% Garnacha, 18% Cariñena and 5% other varieties from a single plot, Clos de l'Afaitador, between El Molar and Bellmunt. The varieties ripen at different moments and fermented separately, destemmed and with indigenous yeasts. The wine matured in used 300- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 24 months. It comes through in an elegant and not so extracted or oaked style, respecting the character of the place in a balanced and subtle way, but it's not a shy wine; it has full ripeness and 15% alcohol that goes unnoticed, balanced by very good freshness, reflected by a pH of 3.4. It's textured and fine-boned, with elegant tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. An elegant Priorat, yes. 3,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.

Description
Since its origin, Adrets Del Priorat Nerin Terra has been a declaration of principles: to give a voice back to a rugged, extreme and deeply mineral landscape. In the hands of the Belondrade family, known for their work in Castile and Leon, this winery was born from a bold decision: to bet on old vines and hard soils in one of the most challenging areas of Catalonia. From the Clos de l'Afaitador estate in Poboleda, the traditional Priorat varieties -Garnacha (80%) and Cariñena (20%)- are combined here with a vision of purity and tension. The result is not just a wine, but an honest reading of the deep Priorat, with its licorella, clay and limestone soils under the influence of a severe Mediterranean climate, but nuanced by cool orientations.
Winemaking
Adrets Del Priorat Nerin Terra is harvested by hand, in small boxes and in multiple passes, to guarantee the exact ripeness of each cluster. Fermentation is spontaneous, with indigenous yeasts, and is carried out in steel tanks and open vats, respecting the maximum varietal expression. The wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels, which allows for a slow evolution without adding artifice. Finally, bottling is carried out without fining or filtering, keeping the wine's identity intact.
Taste
Nerin Terra is tense, vibrant and austere in the best sense. On the nose, the black fruit stands out -blackberries , plums- together with notes of graphite, undergrowth and a clearly mineral background. On the palate, it has nerve: fine tannins, precise acidity, juicy texture. The fruit is crisp but restrained, giving way to a lingering sensation of warm earth, stone and spice. The finish is dry, long and saline, with an elegant echo that invites reflection. An authentic Priorat, without make-up, that demands attention and rewards with depth.
