Description
Lolita Lolitax is a jewel emerging from the Gard region in the Côtes du Rhône. Lolita Sene, after a Parisian life and an experience in America, immersed herself in the world of natural wine. Now, from her hectare of vineyards in Gard, she produces splendid, pure wines with an explosive flavour.
Winemaking
The production of Lolitax is a meticulous and passionate process. Produced in collaboration with Nicolas Renaud of Clos des Grillons, this wine is made from 100% Grenache Noir from young vines planted in Saze, just south of Rochefort-du-Gard. Harvesting is done manually in mid-August, followed by direct pressing in a pneumatic press. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place with whole grapes. Subsequently, the wine undergoes a short ageing in steel tanks. It is important to note that no sulphites are added throughout this process, and the wine does not undergo fining or filtering. The result is an orange wine that reflects the purity and authenticity of the Garnacha Tinta grape, bottled in its most natural and authentic form.
Taste
Lolitax offers a taste that is a real pleasure for the palate. With notes of red fruits and blood orange, it is like a small candy, but dry. It is a smooth juice that glides on easily, offering a taste that is pure pleasure. It also has fresh notes of pomegranate and candied cherry, with more fruit than spice, making it atypical and appetising. It is medium-bodied with a nice dry finish, easy to drink on the palate with pleasant acidity and mineral notes.
