Description
La Salada Disbarats is a non-crianza white wine made by the Celler La Salada winery with the white varieties Macabeo and Xarel-lo in the Penedès region of Catalonia.
This white wine comes from vines planted around 1990 on clay-limestone soils surrounding the family orchard and pond.
These vineyards are cultivated with minimal intervention, without chemical fertilizers, following ecological premises, with the addition of organic nutrients.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand. The grapes are collected in small boxes and transported to the winery. There, it is vinified with a minimum of intervention. Once in the winery, 50% of the Macabeo variety is subjected to skin maceration. The rest is pressed directly.
Subsequently, the must ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks.
Afterwards, the wine is aged for 7 months in stainless steel tanks. Bottling is done without fining, without filtering, without adding SO2 or any other product and is done according to the lunar calendar.
Taste
La Salada Disbarats is an aromatic white wine with delicious fruity aromas, citrus notes and herbal hints. The palate is fresh and fruity. The mid-palate reveals refreshing fruity notes and salty hints on the finish.
A light wine in which varietal purity is maintained.
