Description
Clos du Tue-Boeuf Blanc is a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc by the Clos du Tue Boeuf winery in the Loire region of France under the Vin de France appellation.
The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 20 years in Touraine that the Puzelat family works organically and that belong to farmer friends. The vineyards have been planted on soils that are a mixture of clay, flint, gravel, quartz and sand.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness of the grapes. Vinification is by direct pressing of whole bunches. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and is not racked until bottling.
Afterwards, the wine is aged for 4 to 6 months on its lees. This wine is the only one clarified and very lightly sulphured (barely 2 mg) before bottling.
Taste
Clos du Tue-Boeuf Blanc has a pleasant fruity and floral bouquet. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with medium-high acidity and a touch of minerality. The finish is marked by remarkable length and vivacity - satisfying and incredibly drinkable!
