Description
Bera Vittorio Barbera Le Verrane is a red wine from the Piedmont region made from the Barbera grape. This wine is grown in soils composed of limestone and marl, which gives it unique characteristics in its flavour and aroma. Moreover, its south-eastern exposure guarantees an optimal ripening of the grapes.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and gently crushed on arrival at the winery. Fermentation is spontaneous, initiated by indigenous yeasts, and without the addition of sulphur, in cement tanks. Maceration lasts about three weeks, allowing the flavours and aromas to intensify. After this process, the wine remains in cement for 18 months. During bottling, a little residual sugar is left, resulting in a slightly frizzante wine. This slight carbonation is intentional, a tribute to the wines of past generations that were consumed daily in this region.
Taste
Bera Vittorio Barbera Le Verrane is a wine that surprises from the first sip. At first, you may notice a slight effervescence due to its youth. Although aromatic it is somewhat closed at the beginning, with time it unfolds intense notes of plum , sultanas and gradually hints of game accompanied by touches of rosemary. Its flavour is bold, with soft but enveloping tannins that leave a lasting sensation on the palate.
