Tega Do Sal 2017

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
I first tasted the 2017 Tega do Sal in the vineyard where the grapes come from, and I immediately felt the effect of the soil in the texture compared with the 2016, which is still more on the fruit. Even though these vines didn't suffer from frost, this was a low-yielding vintage and some grapes were used in the entry-level Viña Mein, as those vineyards lost a huge percentage of grapes to frost. This is almost pure Treixadura (there is a pinch of Albariño) that was fermented and matured in stainless steel, as they feel the Treixadura can get too much volume in oak and the stainless steel narrows the palate and makes it long. The nose is quite expressive, but the palate shows much better than the 2016, with fine minerality and a salty sensation. 3,485 bottles were filled in September 2018.
