Description

Radikon Merlot has its origins in the region of Oslavia, Friuli Venezia Giulia. This wine is produced by Sasa Radikon, a prominent figure in the world of natural wine. The Merlot variety, often known for its fruitier, lusher versions, has found a home in Friuli's Collio where it has naturalised, and under Radikon's expert guidance, has been transformed into a masterpiece of natural wine.

Winemaking

The making of this wine is a testament to dedication and respect for nature. The work in the vineyard goes beyond organic, and in the cellar, nothing is added or taken away. This impressive Merlot undergoes a maceration on skins that lasts between 30 and 40 days. It is then pressed and aged in used barrels for 5 years, and then spends much more time in the bottle. It should be noted that no sulphur is added, nor is there any fining or filtering process, which allows the wine to retain its purest and most authentic essence.

Taste

Radikon Merlot is majestically evocative of lost mysteries and ancient wisdom. On tasting, it unfolds on the palate with a surge of crushed hibiscus petals and cassis steeped in old Calvados. Notes of blackberries, wormwood and wild cherries intertwine with oriental spices and musk.
