Description
Barranco Oscuro El Pino Granate is a single varietal Pinot Noir planted in 1996 on the Barranco Oscuro estate, located at an average altitude of 1,290 metres in the Andalusia region of Spain. The vineyards are planted on schist and clay soils, which contributes to the unique characteristics of the wine.
Winemaking
Barranco Oscuro El Pino Granate is made by fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by one year of ageing in French oak barrels. This wine is bottled without fining and without adding sulphites, maintaining its natural and organic character.
Taste
Barranco Oscuro El Pino Granate has a medium-low cherry colour. On the nose, it displays a complex range of aromas including ripe red fruits, tobacco, leather, dried flowers, and mineral and smoky notes. On the palate, it is an unctuous wine that, despite the years, retains body and intensity. Its medium acidity is correct, with polished tannins and a medium-high persistence. This balance makes it ideal for pairing with dishes such as mushrooms, baked fish and lentil soup.
