Buy Wine from Parxet
Parxet is the history of a long-running family saga, Codorniu, who after a golden period suffered a breakdown between brothers and cousins that led to the appearance of new wineries such as Raventós i Blanc, Codorniu or Parxet with one Raventós in every one of them leading the project. At Parxet we find Ramón Raventós, a 36 years-old manager of the group, which was founded by his father after several years being Codorniu's vice-president.
Talking about Parxet is talking about history, tradition and knowledge within the wine world. Today the group owns Parxet and Marqués de Alella estates in Alella, Tionio and Austum in Ribera del Duero, Basagoiti in Rioja and their latest purchase in Montsant is Portal del Montsant winery. In view of the steadiness and good work with these wineries' portfolio, it is obvious that this is a trustworthy family.
Parxet winery is placed at Santa Maria de Martorelles and has almost 200 hectares of vineyard distributed in several Vallès and Maresme municipalities where the vines enjoy the wind-smoothed Mediterranean climate of all the coastline shore. Soil, in the Alella area precisely, is sauló (thick sand from granite rock) and sandy-clay. The main grape varieties are: Pansa Blanca, Macabeo and Parellada as traditional indigenous ones and foreign Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Parxet is exclusively producing sparkling wines with Cava Designation of Origin and nowadays they bring forth up to 10 different cavas of different section depending on the expedition liqueur added and the time of ageing… so there are options enough for any palate. But let's see which ones are the most amazing ones: Parxet Brut Nature is a gastronomical cava choice to start with. Produced with the three classic DO Cava varieties, is a good option for amateurs that are newcomers in the cava world; with Parxet Maria Cabané we take one step further both in quality and bubbles finesse; Parxet Aniversario is addressed to expert cava drinkers as it is a true collector's item. The basis wine is fermented in French oak barrels, so vanilla, creamy and toasty are its leading notes. The bubble is almost imperceptible!; Titiana Brut Nature is produced with Chardonnay, in a very champagne style. A make-up cava in a wild flowers and jasmine garden; Titiana Brut Rosé is the Parxet's pink baby, produced with Pinot Noir. Mild and slightly sweet in mouth; and finally Titiana Pansa Blanca where you will recognise glacé fruits and white flowers. Someone said camomile?
