Buy Wine from Louis Jadot
To speak of Louis Jadot is to speak of Burgundy in its most faithful and plural expression. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the maison was born with a clear purpose: to be a bridge between the vineyard and the glass, between history and the present. But the story begins even earlier, in 1826, when the family acquired its first vineyard, the legendary Clos des Ursules in Beaune, a jewel that symbolises the spirit of the house: respect, authenticity and an enduring vocation.
Two paths, one philosophy
For more than 160 years, Louis Jadot has masterfully combined two dimensions: that of the producer with his own vineyards, and that of the négociant who selects grapes and wines from partners who share the same philosophy. This allows him to cover the whole of Burgundy, from Chablis to the Mâconnais, via the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, and even to the most distinctive crus of the Beaujolais.
This territorial breadth does not dilute its identity; on the contrary, it strengthens it. Each yellow label, crowned by the unmistakable head of Bacchus, promises an authentic expression of the Burgundy terroir from which it comes. Because for Jadot, the important thing is not to impose a style, but to reveal the truth of each soil, each vintage, each vineyard.
Winery without dogmas, vineyard with vision
The house works with a firm commitment to sustainability, moderate yields and minimum intervention. Fermentations are made with indigenous yeasts when the profile of the wine allows it, and the use of new wood is always measured, avoiding masking the voice of the vineyard. There are no dogmas or fads here: just a constant search for precision and balance.
Diversity with coherence
The most admirable thing about Louis Jadot is its ability to be many things at once without losing its essence. He can offer a Bourgogne Pinot Noir that introduces the neophyte to Burgundian elegance with honesty, while at the same time crafting a Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru that dazzles with its minerality and depth. At every level, there is coherence, there is craft, there is soul.
Dynamic tradition
At a time when commercialism often sacrifices craftsmanship, Louis Jadot remains a rare example of scale with soul. Under the current management of Thomas Seiter and Thibault Gagey, the house is moving forward with a clear vision: to preserve the heritage without remaining anchored, to innovate without losing its roots.
A sip of living history
To discover Louis Jadot is to rediscover Burgundy in every glass. Not as a fashion, but as a living culture. Because in its wines there are not only grapes: there are centuries of history, wise hands, and a land that still has a lot to tell
