In 2017, Gallina de Piel Wines was created by David Seijas and Guillem Sanz Obach. Both are sommeliers, and their purpose is to create the best wine and tell bottled stories, which is why they have placed their seal and their search for the best wine in the "Gallina de Piel" initiative.
Seijas is a talented, concerned and thoughtful worker who relates wine to the gustatory simplicity of a bottle, trying to explain wine with simplicity, but without trivialising it.
Guillém Sanz Obach, the winery's executive director, enjoys combining the technical with the artistic. He has the passion of the entrepreneur; he loves launching new projects and is familiar with the world of business.
A brief history
During 2017, with the knowledge of its creators and their extensive experience in the wine and business sector, Gallina de Piel Wines was born and with each landscape and its native varieties, stories began to be bottled.
Gallina de Piel Wines, elaborates and bottles wines that excite with different styles and profiles, and the defence of the place where they come from. Thus, we search for and produce tailor-made wines together with the best winemakers.
One name, one passion
Where did the unique name come from? The founder of Bodega Gallina de Piel Wines says it came about without thinking. He wanted to convey the emotion of the wine and give it a touch of humour, and he succeeded!
Location of the vineyards
Both David Seijas and Guillém Sanz Obac seek out the best vineyards and make their products in four strategic locations: Penedés and Emporda in Catalonia, Ribeiro in Galicia and Calatayud in Zaragoza.
In the vineyards located in these locations and with the native varieties of Garnacha, Cariñena, Xarel.los and Treixadura, they make tailor-made wines. These are the appellations and grape varieties that are the protagonists of their creations.
Wines that transmit
In 2015, when he left El Bulli, Seijas had in mind two wines with which he began his great adventure with his project. These wines are: Manar dos Seixas and Roca del Crit.
Their names are a tribute to his roots, Galicia and L'Empordà, the places where he lived.
