Buy Wine from Celler Masia Can Tutusaus
Celler Masia Can Tutusaus is a winery located in Olesa de Bonesvalls (Alt Penedès) attached to the D.O. Cava and D.O. Penedès. The origins of the winery date back to the middle of the 14th century, although it was not until 1729 when the current farmhouse was built in Olesa de Bonesvalls; from 1986 when Joan Badell i Badell introduced significant changes in the modernization of the winery, which coincided with the beginning of the production of Cava.
Celler Masia Can Tutusaus occupies an estate of 76 hectares of which only 11 hectares are dedicated to organic vine cultivation and is bounded to the north by the Sierra de Ordal and to the southwest by the Garraf Massif. The soils of the different and distributed plots are clay-limestone soils that in general do not suffer from water stress. The name Dolinas (Dolines), which is used in their Cavas, comes from the valleys that were generated over time. As regards organic farming practices, these began in 1998 and are combined with traditional and biodynamic practices; the result of all this has been a clearer differentiation between the wines produced, each one marking the personality and identity of where they come from.
Currently the team of Celler Masia Can Tutusaus is led by young blood with Raimon Badell i Rosés and Ferran Gil i García; Raimon Badell picks up the baton of the family with the task of recovering the estate abandoned since the late nineteenth century; of faithful conviction for the land and the vineyard and with an international background he applies the passion of his father in everything he touches; Ferran Gil is an urbanite, from Barcelona, from the neighborhood of Sants, son of fusion of cultures: Catalan on his father's side(Terra Alta) and Andalusian on his mother's side (Jaén) who inherited the feeling for the land from both of them and graduated in Horticulture and Food Industries, later he will do a master's degree in oenology and that is where he will meet Raimon.
The Valldolina Reserva Brut Nature is his letter of introduction and shows the virtues of a young, dry Cava, with aromas of white fruit and light notes of aging; on the other hand Tutusaus Gran Reserva Brut Nature already shows the characteristics of a Cava of long aging with evident notes of nuts and autolysis with an excellent structure suitable for strong dishes.
Celler Masia Can Tutusaus: perfect fusion of youth, ecology and tradition in the Penedés!
