£25.33 (Inc. VAT bot. 75 cl.) / Spain
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white blend 2023 Rofe Blanco mixes origins and varieties (Malvasía Volcánica, Listán Blanco and Diego). It has a deep nose with more complexity and notes of herbs and aniseed, and it's very clean, with unnoticeable oak, more in the style of 2021 but with more finesse. It has 13% alcohol with a balanced mouthfeel, with more of everything, ripeness, acidity and intensity. It has a little more creaminess than the other whites from the 2023 vintage, but it still has a sharp and elegant profile. 6,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2024.

Description
Rofe Blanco wine is produced by Puro Rofe in the Lanzarote Designation of Origin, with the varieties Listán Blanco, Malvasía and Vijariego Blanco.
We are talking about an innovative project, led by the entrepreneur Rayco Fernández and the oenologist Carmelo Peña, with the intention of showing the hidden wine treasure of Lanzarote. And to achieve this they work together with winegrowers, who are committed to recovering the native varieties with the minimum of intervention.
Elaboration
For the production of Rofe Blanco wine, each vine is planted in a hole up to 3 metres deep, in order to protect them from the erosion of the Sahara winds, and a respectful artisanal agriculture is practised.
In the winery, the grapes are trodden in the traditional way before pressing. The fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts and the ageing process takes 8 months in stainless steel tanks.
Finally, it is bottled, without stabilisation or filtering, and stored in the cellar until it reaches optimum maturity.
Taste
Rofe Blanco wine is known for its fresh and fruity taste, with a balanced acidity and notes of white fruits. It may also have subtle hints of citrus. In addition, it can have some hints of fresh herbs and a slight minerality on the palate that surprises and refreshes, ideal for summer.
A wine with a volcanic identity and Atlantic acidity.
The Rofe white wine is surprisingly light, crisp and fresh, made from indigenous varieties and volcanic terroirs. Overall, it is an elegant and balanced wine, ideal with seafood, fish, salads and light dishes.
It is the ideal option to enjoy in company, and you definitely have to try it!
And you, have you already dared to accompany a dish with this wonderful wine?
