The 2023 Tilama is pure Malvasía Volcánica from a coastal 'enarenado' vineyard, on limestone soils covered by a 20-centimeter layer of 'rofe' volcanic ash (lapilli). This vineyard is the one closer to the sea, with the only grape in the zone. The wine has an austere profile, more saline with iodine notes but gentler in general and with more harmony and elegance this year. This year it went through partial malolactic and is from the more balanced and textured vintage. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.23 and 6.56 grams of acidity. Saline elegance. 1,950 bottles produced. It was bottled in 2024.

Description
Puro Rofe Tilama is a white wine made with volcanic Malvasia grapes, planted in sandy soils. It is an iodized and accessible wine where the proximity of the sea emerges as the protagonist over the primary aromas of the variety.
This wine is born through the project of a group of winegrowers who define one of the most surprising volcanic landscapes. Puro Rofe Tilama comes from hundred-year-old vines buried in holes 3 metres deep to trap humidity, prevent evaporation and protect them from the wind and the Saharan sun.
Elaboration
Puro Rofe Tilama wine is cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture, and the grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum moment of ripeness. The bunches are crushed directly in the winery in the traditional way, and the must obtained is fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts.
The wine is matured in barrels for 8 months, bottled unfiltered and unstabilised. Furthermore, it is released onto the market at its optimum moment of maturity.

The Puro Rofe Tilama wine is born against all odds, presenting a beautiful youthful colour, in which the perfect balance between the freshness of the Atlantic, the warm climate and the volcanic soils of the island can be found. In the mouth it is fresh, crisp, light and with a bright acidity that highlights the island's identity.
