The 2022 O Bocoi Vello de Silvia has a nutty nose and some hints of dry straw. It's a little reductive and with more weight in the palate than the 2021 I tasted next to it. Some 2,500 bottles were filled before the 2023 wine was put to ferment in the same old chestnut cask.

Winemaking

Skin and stems maceration for 48 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts under controlled temperature in 1,900-litre chestnut foudres and 500-litre French oak barrels. Aged on lees for 7 months. Bottled without tartaric stabilization, unfined and lightly filtered.
