The 2023 O Bocoi Vello de Silvia has a deeper golden color, different from the rest of the whites. It was produced with Albariño from three vineyards and was foot trodden, macerated with the skins for 48 hours (hence the color and faint 'orange' profile) and fermented and matured in an ancient chestnut cask ('bocoi' is a large cask). The nose gives a sensation of higher ripeness (it has only 11.6% alcohol), but the palate is lighter and has fine tannins that give the wine a chalky texture, balanced by notable acidity. It's aromatic, expressive and a little wider. 2,691 bottles and 14 magnums produced. It was bottled in August 2024.

Winemaking

Skin and stems maceration for 48 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts under controlled temperature in 1,900-litre chestnut foudres and 500-litre French oak barrels. Aged on lees for 7 months. Bottled without tartaric stabilization, unfined and lightly filtered.
