Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Bittersweet, iris-like floral perfume and scents of ripe black raspberry in the Gauby 2010 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Coume Gineste – for more on whose site and vines, consult my accompanying review of the 2011 – lead to a juicy and satisfyingly polished, prolonged palate performance. A smoky infusion of black tea and persistently bittersweet, inner-mouth florals are complimented by a lovely sense of lift as well as mouthwatering salinity to the long finish here, whose clarity and sap easily surpass that of the 2011 with its slightly problematic tannins, a superiority of 2010 not evidenced by the other Gauby single-site bottlings. I would expect this to perform impressively through 2022.
